I’m a 23-year-old freelance photographer based in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. I’m passionate about capturing life’s moments through my lens, turning fleeting experiences into lasting memories.
For me, photography is more than just a profession; it’s a way to freeze time and tell stories through images, showcasing the beauty and emotion in every moment I capture.
MY JOURNEY
My journey with photography started when I was younger. Long before I had my first camera, I was already captivated by the art of photography, using just my phone to snap photos of my pets and the beautiful aspects of nature. What began as a simple hobby blossomed into a deep passion for capturing life’s most precious moments.
Over the years, that passion has only grown stronger, inspiring me to refine my skills and invest in the perfect camera to bring my vision to life. Now, as the creative force behind Shutter & Shade Collective, I strive to blend creativity with authenticity, ensuring every photo tells a story.
BEHIND THE LENS
While photography is my main passion, my creative journey doesn’t end there. I also dedicate my time to photo and video editing, enhancing images to make them truly stand out and transforming raw footage into captivating visual stories.
I’m also exploring the world of design, creating visuals that complement my photography and elevate the storytelling experience. As I continue to grow as an artist, I’m committed to pushing my creative boundaries and offering a diverse range of services through Shutter & Shade Collective.
RECOGNITION & EXPERIENCE
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with both individuals and brands. Through Shutter & Shade Collective, I’ve worked with clients such as Slayer Energy Drinks, Lush & Co Beauty Bar, and The Pretty Penny Store, and collaborated with NSAW Wrestling Promotion, where I also serve as Media Director. Some of my wrestling event photography has even been featured in The Witness newspaper, and I’ve been involved in projects like a documentary filmed by POP24 and kykNET. I have also edited episodes that aired on DSTV’s Mpuma Kapa Tv. My work has spanned from portraits and lifestyle shoots to promotional campaigns and live events, giving me a diverse creative toolkit.
FUN FACTS ABOUT ME
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me sipping on an iced coffee, jamming to music on repeat, or binge-watching my favorite series.
I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s enjoying the misty Hilton weather or exploring new spots that inspire my creativity. Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am — From painting, coloring, gaming, and streaming.
Traveling and exploring new places is something I’m deeply passionate about, and it’s high on my bucket list to see more of the world while growing my craft. Some of my biggest dreams are to open my own official studio, upgrade my gear, and dive into bigger projects that push my creativity even further.
